What is regenerative agriculture?
Regenerative agriculture is about looking after our soil while improving the whole landscape. It focuses on five key functions: capturing solar energy, cycling water and nutrients, supporting healthy ecosystems and benefiting both people and communities.
In practice, it means keeping the soil covered and alive with plants, encouraging a mix of species and carefully managing grazing to work with the land. These approaches help build healthier soil, more resilient farms and richer, more productive landscapes.
Join a regenerative agriculture group
Connect with local farmers in the Hills and Fleurieu region by joining a regenerative agriculture group. These groups offer opportunities to share knowledge, access resources, learn from mentors and guest speakers, and take part in on-farm visits.
Members usually meet every two months for farm walks and property visits, seeing regenerative practices in action and discussing ideas with other farmers. Larger network events bring together members from across the region.
