Sustainable Schools
Schools across the Hills and Fleurieu are encouraged to take part in Green Adelaide’s school sustainability programs, including Sustainable Schools and Climate Ready Schools. These initiatives support schools and preschools to connect students with the natural world, build climate and sustainability understanding, and empower young people to take informed, meaningful action.
The programs provide practical tools, curriculum-aligned resources and support to help schools embed sustainability and climate resilience into everyday learning, school culture and planning. Schools are supported to develop approaches that reflect their local landscape, values and community, recognising that every school’s journey is different.
Through hands-on, student-led learning and whole-school approaches, these programs strengthen environmental outcomes, support learning and wellbeing, and help schools play an active role in building resilient communities for the future.
Youth Environment Council
Encourage your future environmental leaders to join a community of peers and mentors, develop leadership skills, and take action on sustainability projects.
Applications open in February each year.
