Our coastline is home to unique habitats, species, and communities and it’s under increasing pressure from environmental change and human activity.
Coastal Action Plans help us better understand the condition of specific coastal areas, the ecosystems they support, and the threats they face. These plans include local knowledge, conservation priorities, and detailed species lists, along with clear actions and responsibilities for protecting these important places.
We’re currently updating the Southern Fleurieu Coastal Action Plan to reflect recent achievements, emerging challenges, and new opportunities for conservation. This collaborative plan will guide future efforts to protect and restore the coastline of the southern Fleurieu Peninsula.
We are working closely with partner organisations, community stakeholders and our neighbours at Green Adelaide, aligning with the Metropolitan Adelaide and Northern Coastal Action Plan to ensure a coordinated approach across the region.
